Matthew Thompson, MD

Dr. Matthew Thompson graduated with a degree in Human Biology from the University of Kansas, where he was also a starting offensive tackle for the football team. Dr. Thompson received his medical degree from Kansas City University. He completed his internship in the United States Navy prior to spending three years as an active duty US Naval Flight Surgeon. Dr. Thompson completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the Naval Medical Center San Diego where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded Resident of the Year.  Following his residency, he joined the teaching faculty for 3 years. A board-certified physician, Dr. Thompson joined the Bend Anesthesiology Group in 2021. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and flyfishing with his wife and two boys.
